An 18-year-old from Atlanta has been named as the suspected gunman in a March 1 shooting at a Nashville fast food restaurant that left one man dead and another critically wounded.

Arrest warrants were issued Tuesday afternoon charging Jordan Goodlett with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide, according to a statement from Nashville police.

Goodlett is accused of killing Murray Gross, 25, of Memphis, and wounding Ryan Weaver, 19, of Cordova, Tenn., following a 3:15 a.m. altercation at the Cookout restaurant on West End Avenue in the Tennessee capital.

According to the release, investigators believe that during the altercation, Weaver saw Goodlett “move his hands toward his waist.

“Believing that Goodlett was reaching for a gun, Weaver fled into the restroom. Goodlett is alleged to have followed Weaver and shot him once while in the restroom.”

Weaver ran back into the main part of the restaurant, where he was shot once more, police said.

Weaver’s friend, Gross, fled into the parking lot, and was shot as he ran through an alley behind the restaurant. He died in the street near the restaurant.

Police said Goodlett was in Nashville as a college student, but withdrew from school earlier this month. At the time of the shooting, Goodlett was free on $4,000 bond after a January felony marijuana arrest by Tennessee State University police.

Police asked that anyone with information on Goodlett’s whereabouts call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or their local police.
