An 18-year-old man was charged with murder after an argument led to a midday shooting near Empire Park last week.

Corey Cantrell was arrested and taken to Fulton County Jail Friday after an investigator keyed him as the likely assailant, according to Atlanta Police Department Sgt. Greg Lyon.

Witnesses said there was a “verbal argument” between Cantrell and the victim near the 1900 block of Browns Mill Road, Lyon said. The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on Nov. 20, and the victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Grady Hospital.

Police did not name the victim or provide any other details.
