Forums set for Atlanta City Council president candidates

Atlanta voters will have two chances to hear from candidates for Atlanta City Council president on Tuesday.

The candidates are seeking to replace Felicia Moore, who is running for mayor.

The Atlanta Press Club will host a debate at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for the candidates. The League of Women Voters of Fulton County forum is at 6:30 p.m. Both events will be livestreamed and will also be available to watch on demand later.

The Press Club candidate forum is part of a longer day of candidate events in the Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young Debate Series. The day will start with a debate for City Council Post 3 At-Large at 11 a.m. A debate for mayoral candidates, including those who are not among the top five in polling will be held in two sessions, beginning at 5 p.m.

The League of Women Voters forum is in collaboration with with several organizations and will be held at the Gathering Spot. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube.

- 11Alive will hold a mayoral debate this Wednesday, Oct. 13.

- On Thursday, Oct. 14, the Buckhead Business Association and Livable Buckhead are hosting a mayoral forum at Chastain Horse Park starting at 7:15 a.m.; candidates will share their vision for the Buckhead community amid the renewed discussions over Buckhead cityhood.

Atlanta Press Club / GPB mayoral debates 2021 (two sessions)
