There is good news for those who didn’t vote early. Metro Atlanta’s weather will be nice for standing in line on Election Day.

While the area srayed cool and cloudy on Monday, Tuesday’s forecast calls for a 77-degree high with decreasing clouds throughout the day.

Election Day morning will start with clouds and a small chance, just 20%, for a passing shower.

Any rainfall will be light, and skies should brighten up by the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

“The weather should be pretty good overall for (Tuesday), improving all the way through the day as the sunshine really comes out and warms us up,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Rain will make a comeback on Wednesday, though. There is a 70% chance of rain, with some areas potentially seeing between 2 and 4 inches between then and Thursday. That is thanks to an area of high pressure over the Atlantic that will pull in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, where the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical disturbance.

Temperatures will stay in the low to mid 70s throughout the week.
