City councilmembers Antonio Brown and Andre Dickens, along with attorney Sharon Gay, Council President Felicia Moore, and former mayor Kasim Reed, will participate in a discussion hosted by AJC political reporter Greg Bluestein, who will guide the conversation. AJC City Hall reporters Wilborn P. Nobles III and J.D. Capelouto will ask questions to the candidates.

Although 14 candidates are running to follow Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the five invited are the only candidates to crack the AJC’s poll of likely voters in the November election for mayor. In addition, those top candidates have raised significant campaign money, a vital resource needed to build a campaign network that will allow them to compete in the race for City Hall.

During the Oct. 4 event, the journalists will encourage the candidates to share their positions on crime, affordable housing and Buckhead cityhood. The candidates will also answer reader questions, which can be submitted at atlmayorsrace@ajc.com.

The panel will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will broadcast on ajc.com and the AJC’s Facebook and YouTube accounts. RSVP at AJC.com/conversation to join our Community Conversation series.
