A 52-year-old man died after being shot in southwest Atlanta early Thursday, police said.

Officers responded at around 3 a.m. to a report of a person shot at 1162 Booker Avenue, Atlanta police said.

“Responding medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased on the scene,” the department said in a statement.

Homicide investigators are determining the circumstances surrounding the incident, the department said.
