Atlanta’s forecast high Wednesday of 65 is normal for mid-November, but by week’s end, temperatures will be nearly 20 degrees colder than normal as an Arctic blast already affecting much of the country sweeps southeastward.

Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton is predicting highs of 65 Wednesday, 53 Thursday and just 47 Friday.

Morning lows that bottomed out in the 50s early Wednesday will fall into the low 40s Thursday before dropping to around 30 degrees early Friday.

Skies should be partly cloudy the remainder of the work week, with no rain in Minton’s forecast.

Her outlook for the weekend calls for continued cool temperatures, with a 70 percent chance of rain on Sunday.

Weekend highs will be in the low 50s, with morning lows in the upper 20s Saturday and mid-30s Sunday, Minton said.

Atlanta’s normal high for mid-November is 65, and the normal low is 46.
