Atlanta police delivered another fugitive wanted in the killing at a Kroger to the Fulton County jail Wednesday, Sgt. Greg Lyons told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Shontavious Chestnut, 25, was booked into the jail on murder and fugitive charges after being transported from Pensacola, Fla., said Tracy Flanagan, spokeswoman for the jail.

He was arrested in Pensacola earlier in the month on a warrant for the murder of Joshua Richey, a construction worker who was shot to death on March 10 while working on a job outside the grocery store at 725 Ponce de Leon Ave. when police believe he interfered in the theft of his pickup truck.

Another man, Damarius Thompson, is also charged in Richey's death. He was arrested in the West End, an Atlanta neighborhood, on March 26. Kroger's Atlanta division offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot and killed Richey.

The supermarket chain has been trying to polish the image of the store known as “Murder Kroger” because of past crimes in the neighborhood.

Chestnut was last in the Fulton jail when he was arrested in November on charges of theft and being a felon in possession of a handgun. He was released on a $5,000 bond Dec. 18, according to jail records. It was not known immediately whether he was ever indicted on those charges.

Before that, he was booked into the jail in June for probation violation on weapons and theft charges. He was released June 14 after being sentenced to time served, according to jail records.

Thompson also had an extensive arrest record. He has twice served time in state prison, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. Most recently, he was released from prison in January 2014 after serving 17 months following a conviction for terroristic threats and acts, records showed. The same day he was released from prison, Thompson was booked into the Fulton jail on outstanding charges.
