On Monday, “Good Morning America” revealed the who would be named the star of the 16th season of the fan favorite ABC reality show “Bachelorette.”

Clare Crawley, 38, will be the star of the upcoming season, according to "GMA." Crawley will be the oldest "Bachelorette" in the show's history. Fans might recall her as a contestant during Season 18 of "The Bachelor," which sought to connect Juan Pablo Galavis with his future wife. The native of Sacramento, California, appeared on the "The Bachelor" with a fake baby bump, which led to much chatter on social media.

Crawley told “GMA” that she found out she’d be starring on the ABC spinoff over the weekend, and the news was “so unexpected.”

"The most important thing is I want a man that will take off his armor," she said during her "GMA" appearance. "I want a man who is strong, but is willing to take off the body armor, open himself up and be vulnerable, and I think that is some serious strength right there."

She and Galavis shared many heated moments on the show, but ultimately they were not a match. She went on to appear on Season 1 and 2 of the “Bachelor in Paradise” and “Bachelor Winter Games.” While there she met Benoit, who had appeared on “The Bachelor” Canada. He would later propose, but the couple would never make it down the aisle.

The hairstylist said she hopes this reign as “The Bachelorette” will connect her with her ultimate match. Crawley said she expects much conversation about her age, since she is the oldest woman to seek love on the show. However, she believes her age will be an advantage.

"A lot of people put it out there as this negative thing, but for me, it just is more years under my belt, more learning and knowing what I want, what I don't want and what I won't settle for," she said on her age.
