Milton has reopened Bethany Bend to traffic, setting out temporary metal plates after a water main break shut down the road on New Year’s Day morning, the city announced in a Facebook posting.

The break, in a 24-inch main, occurred between the Spring View and Galecrest drives. Crews gave first priority to restoring water service to several hundred residents in the area, then they turned to repairing the road.

“(The) metal plates give workers flexibility while allowing cars to use the whole road for, basically, the first time in 2021,” Milton said. “Drivers should drive cautiously, given that metal plates by nature make the road uneven.”

“At some point in the coming days and weeks, the plates will come off and Bethany Bend will close temporarily once again so workers can finish the job. But at least drivers have a little reprieve for now.” Information: https://bit.ly/38pUKA0
