The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Oct. 19 regular meeting to accept $130,000 in additional CARES Act funding and extend a previous agreement with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs regarding its Community Development Block Grant program. The board also approved a $91,953 expenditure for equipment to upgrade the simulator used by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, using grants funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. A $66,918 bid was approved for the installation of fencing at the Atlanta Speedway Airport using SPLOST funds, and some changes were made to the county employees’ benefit and retirement plan.
