Jake Carter of McDonough has been named to the board of the Georgia Tourism Foundation. His was one of 20 new appointments announced Sept. 2 by the office of Gov. Brian Kemp. A 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia, Carter is the owner and operator of Southern Belle Farm in McDonough, having transformed the former dairy operation on the family farm into a 330-acre agritourism destination that has received national recognition at various times over the years.
Carter is also a member of the board of directors for Snapping Shoals EMC, and in 2019 Kemp appointed him to serve on the state’s Board of Economic Development.
