City officials in Hampton announced that COVID-19 exposure precautions have led to the postponement of the upcoming budget workshop and public hearing from their original dates. The budget workshop is now tentatively set for Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. with the public hearing to follow Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. Both of those dates are one week later than previously scheduled.

The reading and adoption of the budget ordinance are still set for Sept. 28 and 29 as originally planned. All of these meetings will be at the city’s Train Depot on East Main Street and the public is invited to attend. The proposed budget for the 2022 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, will be available for viewing online and at City Hall beginning Sept. 17. Information: hamptonga.gov.
