Depending on the weather, the existing Rogers Bridge in Duluth is scheduled to be removed from its location over the Chattahoochee River this week. Currently planned for Wednesday, Oct. 6 with a rain date of Oct. 7, the activity will affect river traffic.

Since the removal operation will require heavy equipment, the section of the river immediately 1,000 feet upstream and immediately 1,000 feet downstream of the bridge will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

For public safety as well for those involved in the construction operation, Duluth is asking that no one put into or traverse the river in this vicinity on those days.

Questions related to these operations: mpozin@duluthga.net. Additional delays may occur depending on the weather.
