September Saturdays is Douglas County’s largest annual family-friendly festival and community event planned for Sept. 18 and 25.
On Sept. 18, Heroes Day will include a Touch-a-Truck Experience.
Then on Sept. 25, Family Day will include games.
Hours on both days are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with movies beginning at dusk.
Rain or shine, September Saturdays is free to attend so that everyone is welcome.
Festival expenses are paid by Douglas County and community-minded businesses so that the festival, parking and all features can have free admission, according to a Douglas County statement.
September Saturdays is held inside and on the grounds of the Douglas County Courthouse, 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville.
Parking is available on the courthouse grounds and on surrounding properties in the Dorris Road parking lot, the Woodie Fite Senior Center and the Multimodal Transportation Center.
Handicapped parking is designated on the festival grounds.
A free van shuttle service will be provided to/from adjacent parking areas and the festival grounds.
There also will be parking spaces available at nearby businesses across Hospital Drive from the courthouse grounds, one block away to the north at Kroger and one block away to the south at WellStar Hospital and First United Methodist Church with sidewalks in between these locations and the courthouse.
September Saturdays will feature a food court of local restaurants and caterers.
The food court will open at 11 a.m., and most vendors will stay open until the 8 p.m. when the movie starts.
