Taste of Marietta announced Tuesday it is postponing this year’s event until 2022.

“Our team has decided to announce that Taste of Marietta scheduled to take place on October 24, 2021, will be postponed until April 24, 2022. Our local restaurants are not able to participate due to employee shortages. Taste of Marietta is one of the largest and longest running food festivals in Cobb County and we want to maintain the quality of the festival. We look forward to seeing everyone next year for the best Taste of Marietta yet!” the event posted in a banner on its website.

Many restaurant workers who lost their jobs when the coronavirus pandemic shut everything down are choosing not to return. According to a recent poll, nearly 40% of former hospitality industry workers saw no reason to go back.
