The Georgia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will host the 20th annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Piedmont Park on 10th Street in downtown Atlanta.

“Our annual Walk in Atlanta provides an opportunity for people impacted by suicide to come together to connect and support one another, as well as raise awareness and funds for AFSP,” said Kristen Petillo, Georgia area director for AFSP.

No registration fee and no fundraising minimum are needed.

Registrations will be taken before the nearly two-mile walk from noon-2 p.m.

Friendly, leashed dogs and virtual participants are welcome.

Volunteers and sponsors are needed by emailing Petillo at kpetillo@afsp.org.

Those in crisis may call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 or the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741-741.
