You can stop looking

Deb Zahariades of Alpharetta is going to be disappointed in her search for Peter Pan reduced-fat crunchy peanut spread. Now part of Conagra Brands, E.K. Pond peanut butter was introduced by Swift and Company in 1920, and the name was changed to Peter Pan in 1928. Unfortunately for fans, Peter Pan reduced-fat chunky peanut butter spread was discontinued in May 2017.

Q: Can you find out where I can buy Domino Honey Granules? I haven't been able to find it in any store in Atlanta. I live in the Tucker/Stone Mountain area. Have they stopped making this product altogether? — Lois Tunstall, email

A: Domino Honey Granules combines granulated cane sugar with honey resulting in a free-flowing sweetener that can be used in beverages, cereals, baked ham, sprinkled on popcorn, or any recipe calling for sugar. The sweetener is available at Ingles Market, 650 Rockbridge Road, Lilburn, 404-299-0698. A yellow-and-red, 10-ounce flip-top plastic canister is available for $2.68 on aisle 9 with the other sugars and sweeteners.

Q: For the longest time, Sam's, Costco, Walgreens, and Publix would offer Premier Protein shakes in caramel and cookies & cream flavors. Now it appears I can only find chocolate or vanilla. Are the caramel and cookies & cream seasonal flavors? Will they be distributing them again? — Vicky Diffley, Marietta

A: Vicky, the caramel and cookies & cream flavors aren't seasonal nor are they discontinued. The company, however, seems to have production schedule issues when it comes to keeping up with the high demand for these popular flavors. Here's what I was told by Premier Protein. "Due to the rapid growth in 30g shake sales, consumer demand has been higher than we expected. In order to ensure all fans have the ability to buy our shakes and find them in-store, we are prioritizing chocolate and vanilla for a few months. The banana and caramel flavors will be coming back in mid-February. The other flavors will be returning in the following months." The good news is that your flavors are coming back, but you'll have to wait a few weeks.

Q: I was out of town over the holidays and sampled a vegan butter that was out of this world. I've looked locally but haven't been able to find it. Can you find Miyoko's vegan butter for me, please? Thank you. — Rachel Ramirez, Atlanta

A: Miyoko's European-style vegan butter offers an organic and Non-GMO vegan spread that also is lactose, gluten and soy free. It does, however, contain coconut and sunflower oils and cashews. One tablespoon offers 11 total fat grams, 8 grams of saturated fat, and 90 calories, which is pretty much the same as European-style dairy butter. You can bake and cook with Miyoko's as you would with traditional butter. Miyoko's also is ideal as a spread. You'll find 8-ounce cubes for $6.99 in the refrigerated dairy case at Sprouts Farmers Market, 1845 Piedmont Ave., Atlanta, 404-751-0605. The butter comes from celebrity chef and cookbook author, Miyoko Schinner, who also turns out assorted vegan cheeses through Tomorrow's Creamery.
