If you want to kick off your post-Halloween fun, there’s lots to do in and around metro Atlanta.

The Bitteroots
If you want to start the weekend with rock n’ roll, check out Bitteroots with special guests Moody Hollow and the Bantam Breaks on Nov. 2 at Smith’s Olde Bar.
The Bitteroots, founded in 2008, is driven by Laura Dees’ soulful lead vocals. The group also include Bill Taylor on bass and vocals, Mike Davis on drums, saxophonist Derron Nuhfer and PJ Poellnitz on guitar.
Moody Hollow is an Atlanta-based southern rock group that won the 2016 Akademia Award for “Best Rock EP: and was also named one of Touchtunes’ breakout artists. The Bantam Breaks began as four guys finding common ground with alt-country music at the Bantam Pub in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward.

Little Five Points Dia de la Llama Pub Crawl
What better way to support animal rescue than drinking on a pub crawl with a bunch of llamas?
Participants will visit bars in the Five Points area and be eligible to win prizes along the way.
The event benefits the Southeast Llama Rescue, whose mission is to protect the quality of life and improve the well-being of abused, neglected, unwanted and behaviorally unmanageable llamas and alpacas.
Come get all dressed in costumes and parade around Little Five Points with Llamas.

Annual Pitbull Awareness Candlelight Vigil and Party
Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue’s 6th Annual Pitbull Awareness Candlelight Vigil will be held Nov. 3 at the Strand Theatre in Marietta.
Pet lovers are invited to attend this event to raise awareness about ownership, outreach and advocacy for pitbulls and other animals and to discuss ways to improve the state of animal welfare.
The guest speaker is Jamie Buehrle, a pitbull mom and advocate.
There will be a free screening of “The Champions”, a children’s safety class with Millie Travis and sessions on saving lives through pet blood nations and dog nutrition. At 6:30 p.m. there will be a pitbull awareness candlelight vigil, followed by an after party featuring music by Kristin Tinsley.

NATIVE AMERICAN FESTIVAL AND POWWOW AT STONE MOUNTAIN PARK
The Stone Mountain Powwow will offer families a chance to see dance and drum competitions and craft demonstrations on things such as bow making, fire starting and pottery.
In addition, visitors can learn more about Native American life and culture.
The festival runs through Nov. 4.

Global Friends Connecting
Have fun and learn about another culture with Global Friends Connecting on Nov. 4 in Decatur. Participants will meet Syrian families new to the metro area, and experience Syrian food, music and culture. There will be storytime readings from Little Shop of Stories about the child refugee experience and hear from speakers about how refugees are being integrated into a society new to them.
Proceeds benefit the Fugees Academy and the Syrian Community Network of Atlanta..
