Amid the coronavirus outbreak, unemployment claims have reached record highs. Since early March, nearly 2.5 million people in Georgia alone have filed for unemployment.

Nationwide more 20 million jobs lost in the United States in April, but May presented a surprising turnaround. While experts predicted an increase in unemployment of nearly 20 percent and a loss of eight million jobs in May. Instead, the unemployment rate declined from 14.7 percent to 13.3 percent and the U.S. added 2.5 million jobs in May.

“Although the surprise increase in jobs is good news, the pandemic has caused a lot of damage to the economy, and we are far from a full recovery,” Business Insider notes.

These are the industries that saw the biggest hiring gains between April and May, according to Business Insider.

1. Food Services and Drinking Places (1,370,600 jobs added)
2. Dentists' Offices (244,800 jobs added)
3. Personal and Laundry Services (182,300 jobs added)
4. Nonresidental Specialty Trade Contractors (164,900 jobs added)
5. Residential Specialty Trade Contractors (160,400 jobs added)
6. Clothing and Accessories Stores (94,800 jobs added)
7. Automobile Dealers (84,700 jobs added)
8. Repair and Maintenance (77,200 jobs added)
9. Other Health Practitioners' Offices (73,100 jobs added)
10. Services to Buildings and Dwellings (68,400 jobs added)
