Porcelain Passover plate grabs attention

Jerusalem-based artist Barbara Shaw has taken a fresh approach to Passover items, using an image of the flatbread on items ranging from aprons to baby bibs to coasters. It is the made-in-Israel Matzah Seder Plate that grabbed our attention. Dishwasher and microwave safe, the porcelain plate is $110 at the gift shop within the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. To buy, go to shop.spertus.edu.

Instant pasta makes lasagna prep easy

Prepping lasagna may seem like an insurmountable challenge, but made-in-Italy Del-verde instant lasagna pasta delivers an assist. A dip in warm water readies the thin sheets of pasta for layering with favorite ingredients. We liked how the delicately flavored spinach worked in a lasagna recipe, retaining an al dente texture following a half-hour bake. The spinach and tomato flavors are vegan; there’s also an egg version. The suggested retail price: $4.99. For a store locater or to buy, go to lucini.com.
