When you think Spanx you think about world famous bras, panties, bodysuits, camis and slips. Now the Atlanta-based company is taking a shot at what goes over those signature undergarments with the debut of its new The Every-Wear pants line.
The pants debuted nationwide earlier this month. According to the company's website, the pants are "designed to support you and your busy life" and with the infusion of the Spanx signature double layer shaping waistband, Slim-X performance fabric and moisture-wicking materials, Every-Wear pants can easily become the perfect transition from work to play.
The pants come in six different styles with prices ranging from $78 to $118. The active compressive knee pant ($78) is more of a weekender with its capri-style look. The active compression close-fit pant ($98) looks to be the brand's equivalent of a pair of leggings that can double as a pair of work pants. Despite not having any pockets, the lack of a center seam and its 27-inch inseam allow the compression close-fit pant to take the look of a dark pair of slacks (they are only available in black). The line between dressing for work and for the gym is being blurred by Spanx in an affordable way.
The Every-Wear Mesh Side Stripe and Hem Slit pants (both $110) look more like your traditional workout pant while the Every-Wear Stirrup pant ($118) gives the wearer a more playful weekend look. Both have a natural waist for a regular fit. The Every-Wear Tech Tape pant ($128) -- available in both black and blue -- combines everything good about the Spanx brand and Every-Wear line. Made with 62 percent nylon and 38 percent spandex, they are, as all the other Every-Wear styles, machine washable, and along with the 28-inch inseam and signature performance fabric, there are two small front pockets. Unlike a traditional pair of pants, the pockets are bonded and not sewn on to eliminate bulk. Despite being the most expensive pair, the Tech Tape pant is the most versatile of the bunch. The body of the pants are made of the same materials as the others, the side legs, which have a reflector, are made of 50 percent nylon, 33 percent polyester and 17 percent spandex. The reflector stripe starts mid-leg and works all the way down to the ankle.
All styles of The Every-Wear pants are available in sizes XS to XL and will be available in more than 44 stores throughout metro Atlanta, including Dillards, Fabrik and Inman Dry Goods Boutique (743 Edgewood Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA. 404-963-1935) and online.
