A new shop at Ponce City Market offers a space that focuses on wellness and healing. The Modern Mystic Shop, founded by local tarot reader and teacher, Kelley Knight, offers a range of products in a welcoming atmosphere. The product mix includes candles, jewelry, crystals and mystical tools, such as the Illest Tarot by Kristi Prokopiak which features ’80s pop culture icons as the Major Arcana and Court. The shop also hosts a range of events including psychic readings, meditation and more. You can get walk-in readings for $20 on Saturday and Sunday. RX FOR DARK SKIN
Urban Skin Rx, a skincare line targeted to diverse skin tones, launches this month at Target stores nationwide. The collection was developed by Rachel Roff, a licensed medical aesthetician and founder of Urban Skin Solutions — a medical spa and laser center that caters to ethnic and diverse skin tones. Urban Skin Rx focuses on concerns specific to melanin-rich and dark skin. Target will carry the brand’s 3-in-1 bars which include the Clear Skin Cleansing Bar for oily or breakout-prone skin, the Anti-Aging Cleansing Bar to remedy dry, rough skin and the Even Tone Cleansing Bar with a blend of Kojic and Azelaic Acids to fight inflammation and promote even skin pigmentation.
