Run/walk: The Sixth Annual Monastery Cross Country 5K-Run/Walk fundraiser will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13. Participants may join the monks at 7 a.m. for their daily morning Mass and explore over 30 miles of scenic trails, stroll through the Bonsai garden or visit the Monastic Heritage Center. Baptist conference: The 109th annual meeting of the National Baptist Congress (NBC), a traveling Christian educational institute for leaders and workers in churches and denominations, will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 21 to Friday, June 26. Held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel, the Reverend Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr., pastor of the Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta will be this year's host pastor. Mission camp: Peachtree Road United Methodist Church (PRUMC) will partner with the Police Athletic League (PAL) on several projects including packing 2,000 backpacks for children.
