Putter the squirrel eats tiny custom-made cones at ice cream shop

The most popular customer at an ice cream shop in North Carolina is Putter the squirrel.

Scott and Pam Martin, owners of Fantasy Isle Ice Cream and Mini Golf, told WWAY that the squirrel started visiting their shop last summer and has become a regular customer. The Martins named the friendly squirrel Putter and started making custom-made cones for their furry guest.

Putter visits twice a day to pick up a miniature ice cream cone, then scampers back up the tree adjacent to the shop to enjoy the cool treat.

Putter is a big hit with ice cream shop patrons, who enjoy watching the squirrel's antics.
