Hunter, an 8-year-old redbone coonhound mix, is a mature dog with lots of love left to give. He’s active and playful and loves playing fetch and swimming in water. His previous family had to surrender Hunter because he made too much noise in the subdivision, so if you have lots of land, we think Hunter’s your guy. He has lived with kids and other dogs before, and he gets along great with both. He walks well on a leash, and he knows basic commands. All dogs thrive on structure and leadership, and Hunter is no exception. The Atlanta Humane Society recommends crate training and obedience training to help with this. Obedience training helps dogs understand what is expected, which reduces stress on everyone. Hunter may or may not be housetrained, so it’s always best to prepare for a refresher course, since he has never lived in your home before. If you are looking for an adult dog who can make your family complete, come take a look at this boy. Research the breed, and bring all children and any existing dogs to meet Hunter. Hunter is current on his vaccinations at this time. He has been microchipped and dewormed. He will be available at 11 a.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Mansell Campus, 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
