Clive the cat went missing in 2014, but considering where he ended up, he may never have wanted to be found by his family.
That's because Clive, a 2-year-old Norwegian forest cat, was found living it up at a pet food factory, according to the Nottingham Post.
Clive was just 9 months old when he disappeared from his family’s home in Toton in October 2014. The family turned to Facebook and posted signs in the neighborhood, but assumed that someone had taken in its “lovely cat” who had a penchant for wandering outdoors.
A production supervisor at Kennelgate Pet Superstore was tasked with trapping a cat that had been spotted in the warehouse. It took a week to lure the cat into a trap, and staff took the wayward kitty to a local veterinarian’s office where he was scanned for a microchip. The store was thrilled to be able to reunite the cat with his owner.
Tanya Irons, Clive’s owner, was shocked by how much he had grown. Kennelgate posted on the company’s Facebook page that while it’s not known how long the cat lived in the warehouse, he would’ve had access to plenty of pet food and even the occasional mouse.
Kennelgate retail director Colin Lewis told the Nottingham Post, “I think there's been a few holes in some of the boxes!"
