One shop owner in Indianapolis said his staff is being asked every day about the popular blue fish.

"We'll only bring in one or two a week," Kevin Hoovler said. 'We'll sell out within a matter of days, if not the day they arrive."

Hoovler said he's limiting orders for the fish and are turning down impulse buyers, saying that the fish industry learned how to deal with buyers who are looking to recreate their aquatic movie favorites when "Finding Nemo" came out. Clownfish were in demand then.

"A lot of people weren't paying attention that these were salt water fish. They didn't make the correlation that they needed to be in a marine environment. The nightmares we were hearing about, people were buying these fish and putting them in fresh water," Hoovler told WISH.

Hoovler said he has a staff member answering calls all day to explain the needs of the fish to customers.
