A Dallas man says his dog Franky, a Scottish terrier, licked him until he regained consciousness after a mugging in Dallas last week.
James Barfield, 79, said he was walking Franky when two men approached him, kicked him and robbed him of his watch, keys, and the contents of his wallet.
Although Franky was also injured, with bruises that indicated possible kicking, he woke Barfield up and urged him home.
Both Barfield and Franky are recovering.
