For more than a year, Luca the Alaskan malamute has managed to shred all her toys with one exception: a tiny plush husky that looks just like her.
A photo of Luca and her furry friend went viral after one of her owners posted a photo of the two snuggling on the social news site Reddit. According to Buzzfeed, Luca lives in Durham, North Carolina with Karissa Lerch and Lerch's boyfriend.
"I got [the stuffed animal] from Toys R Us many years ago before I could manage a real dog," Lerch wrote on the site. "Definitely not dog-durable but she is super gentle with it."
In one photo, Luca is hardly larger than the stuffed animal, dubbed "Mr. Wolf," according to The Huffington Post. Lerch wrote the photo was taken when Luca was only 8 to 10 weeks old.
In the second photo, from when Luca was a year and a half old, Mr. Wolf isn't even as large as her head.
“It's her baby,” Lerch told The Huffington Post. “She carries it around everywhere and always has it with her when she goes to bed.”
