Full details on the recall can be found on the Britax website. Consumers only need the model number of their product to see if it is part of the recall.
The company stresses that other than the handle, the product is safe and can be used as long as it is secured in a vehicle or stroller. Consumers should use caution when lifting the car seat and not carry by the handle until the repair kit has been applied.
Consumers who registered their products will automatically receive a free repair kit to reinforce the handle, according to Britax. Questions about the recall can be answered by the Britax Customer Service Department at the dedicated recall line: 1-800-683-2045.
