Oakhurst church helps woman realize her dream to see redwood forests

Betty Thompson loved hearing the stories about the giant redwoods in California, where her father used to work as a young man.

The stories stayed with her for years.

Now, Thompson, who has cerebral palsy, will get a first-hand look.

Thompson, members of her church and her caregivers are flying to the West Coast in June and will spend several days taking in the forests that her father loved so much.
