He's been called the "writer who makes crime pay."
And, boy, has it been one huge payday for fans of gritty books, films and series such as "Mystic River" and "Gone Baby Gone." He was also one of the writers for HBO's popular series, "The Wire."
Best-selling author Dennis Lehane will be in Cumming from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Forsyth Conference Center, 3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd., to discuss and sign copies of “Mystic River.”
The event is part of the Forsyth Reads Together program, a county-wide annual event that encourages the entire community to read, discuss, and participate in programs associated with the same book.
“Mystic River” tells the story of three friends whose worlds are shattered when one is abducted by a stranger. The event changes their lives forever . The 2003 film adaptation was directed by Clint Eastwood and starred Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon.
His newest book is “Since We Fell,” a thriller set in Boston, which comes out in May 2017.
