While residents shelter in place across the metro area, health care workers are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

In an attempt to spread some good will and say “thanks” to medical professionals, one metro Atlanta pizza spot sent some food to an area hospital this week.

Cosmo's Little Italy Pizza in downtown Lawrenceville has remained open for delivery and curbside takeout. They’ve also added a pop-up market to sell a variety of goods.

But on Wednesday, their mission was to spread some cheer. According to 11Alive, the pizza parlor sent free lunches to the staff at Northside Gwinnett Hospital.

“Just our way of saying thank you to those that are helping others. Pizza makes people happy,” the business wrote in a Facebook post.

In addition to giving out meals, Cosmo’s is also offering BOGO pizza for first responders and city employees, according to 11Alive.

"This is scary and definitely crazy times. (we're) just trying to do our part," owner Allisha Kelly told the TV station.
