A man in Texas turns heads when he hits a popular trail, due to his feathered companion.

Milt Strong, 69, hits the Katy Trail five days a week, with a chicken in a stroller.

The chicken sits in an enclosed basket, and the stroller's red top provides shade.

Strong told WFAA that he had open heart surgery in May and walks regularly as part of his exercise regimen. He decided to bring a chicken along for the stroll as a joke after seeing so many people with pets in strollers. The chickens have proven to be popular on the trail, so what started out as a joke has become part of Strong's routine. Strong said he takes one of three chickens along for the ride including Summer, a year-and-a-half-old hen.

One jogger warned Strong that he'd have "baked chicken" if he stayed on the trail too long in the summer heat. Strong said he takes early morning walks before the temperature rises to uncomfortable levels.
