Now you can have an original oil painting by former President Jimmy Carter, guitars signed by the Allman Brothers and Willie Nelson and a signed limited-edition art print by Maya Angelou.
They’re among more than 150 items that will be auctioned on Saturday to benefit the Carter Center’s programs.
Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, will participate in a four-day retreat in Annapolis, Md.
The public can take part in the auction by bidding online or by fax .
Among the items are a table with six chairs handcrafted by Carter last summer at the Jimmy Carter boyhood farm in Plains, vacations to Rome, Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard, a wrist watch made from artifacts from a Chinese satellite and a private concert by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary.
Bids for the silent auction will be accepted via fax or online until 2 p.m. on Friday. Bids for the live auction will be accepted via fax or online until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Carter Center was founded in 1982 by the Carters, in partnership with Emory University, to advance peace and health worldwide.
