Hosea Helps and other local partners are holding a water donation drive today to help support resident in Flint.

The water drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 2755 Cambellton Rd. S.W.

The goal of “Water for Flint Day from Atlanta” is to collect and deliver more than 79,560 bottles of water to aid in the relief efforts of those suffering due to lack of clean water in that Michigan city.

Flint residents are suffering from a water crisis for nearly two years. The water has been shown to contain extremely high levels of lead. Clean water has been shipped in from all over the nation.

Local churches are encouraged to donate one pallet of water. Individuals are being asked to donate at least two cases of 24 bottles of water for this water donation drive. Water donations can be dropped off in the drive-thru lane in the back of the parking lot at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

The donated water will be transported on 18-wheeler trucks to its destination free of charge by American Logistics International, Inc. and delivered to Pastor Warrior of the Warrior International Foundation in Flint.
