A condo in 1065 Midtown was a cool downsizing option for the dad of the viral sensation known as “Batdad.” But Jim Wilson had to wait for the right time to finally move into the high-rise condo on Atlanta’s Peachtree Street.
“I first looked at 1065 back five years ago when they were first built. They would only rent them at the time. I wasn’t going to rent,” Wilson said.
While he waited, he bought a condo at 1010 Midtown and then moved into a 7,200-square-foot home in Virginia-Highland. Then in 2015, the apartments at 1065 Midtown were converted into 52 condos located above the Loews Atlanta Hotel. The two- and three-bedroom condos are now priced from the $900,000s.
“All of a sudden, these came on the market,” he says. “It was about a five-year process.”
Now, when Wilson’s son Blake Wilson, a viral sensation who films himself wearing a Batman mask with his family, visits from suburban Atlanta with his kids, they can walk to Piedmont Park and other city attractions.
“You can’t beat the location,” Jim Wilson said.
