Mystery Christmas tree reappears in Arizona

The juniper tree along I-17, north of the Sunset Point rest stop, is anonymously decorated each year during the Christmas season.

The Arizona Department of Transportation posted a history of the mystery Christmas tree on its website, and said based on photos from previous years, the decorations are the same each time.

What is a greater mystery to the Arizona DOT is how the tree has survived numerous brush fires over the years.
