Black Friday can bring out bargain hunting beasts, but there’s no competing with two California women.
Vicky Torres, of Cabazon, California, and Juanita Salas, of Beaumont, began camping outside of a Best Buy store in Beaumont last Wednesday -- 22 days before Black Friday sales begin.
Best Buy has announced they'll be opening their doors at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving with a preview of sales already out.
The pair said they have been camping outside of their favorite electronics store for years. This year they are looking for the best deal on a new television.
"We could have started later, but then we wouldn't be sure to get first in line," Torres told Patch on Friday, as she and Salas sat under the hot sun in front of the Best Buy. "They only get a few items at the cheaper prices and it's first come, first served."
Many stores are opening their doors earlier than ever: Kmart will be opening at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving. Best Buy, JC Penney and Toys R Us will allow shoppers in at 5 p.m, and Walmart, Kohl’s, Sears Macy’s and Target will open at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
