Just in time for the holiday season, Blue Bell is rolling out Peppermint ice cream.
It’s the seventh flavor the company has released since its plants restarted following a four-month shutdown. That shutdown was prompted by a listeria scare, with federal officials linking 10 listeria cases – three of them fatal – to Blue Bell products.
Peppermint ice cream will be back in stores this week, Blue Bell said Monday, just a week after it added another flavor, Pistachio Almond.
Other flavors currently available are Homemade Vanilla, Dutch Chocolate, Cookies ’n Cream, Buttered Pecan and Great Divide.
More flavors will be added in the coming weeks and months as the company’s four production plants work to get back up to full speed, Blue Bell said.
