In a touching gesture, seniors at a Bethlehem, New Hampshire, high school recently donated $8,000 raised for their class trip to their principal, who is fighting cancer.

According to WMUR-TV, the graduating class at Profile Junior-Senior High School unanimously voted to give Principal Courtney Vashaw the money earmarked for a four-day trip to upstate New York. Vashaw is battling an aggressive form of soft-tissue cancer, Today reports.

"Every one of us has a connection with her, and she has given so much to us that we just wanted to give back," said class president Christopher Sirois.

"It is very hard for me to accept help, and I have no idea what to say to you," Vashaw said.
