Could staying single really be better for your health?
Europe's oldest woman, 115-year-old Emma Morano, recently told the New York Times the twofold secret to her long life: being single and eating three raw eggs every day.
The Verbania, Italy, resident, whose only marriage ended in 1938, said she rejected other suitors after the separation because she "didn't want to be dominated by anyone." Read the full story here.
Morano isn't the only centenarian to credit her longevity to single living. Scotland's oldest woman, 109-year-old Jessie Gallan, told The Daily Mail in January that she has avoided men.
"They're just more trouble than they're worth," said Gallan, who never married.
