If you're sick and your regular doctor is unavailable, an urgent care clinic can be a convenient option. There are nearly 7,100 urgent care centers in the U.S., and you've probably seen quite a few throughout Cobb County and the Atlanta metro area.
This level of care is appropriate for basically anything that doesn't constitute an emergency. If you have chest pain, a severe allergic reaction or other very serious condition, an emergency room is your best bet. An urgent care clinic can handle most other needs, however, including immunizations and treatment for sore throats and broken bones. You'll usually receive treatment much faster than you typically would in an emergency room (unless you have a true emergency, of course), and costs are lower.
