In a first for a major restaurant chain, Chipotle announced that all its ingredients are GMO-free.
In 2013, Chipotle was the first chain to reveal which menu items contained genetically-modified ingredients and now they say none do.
All locations have switched from cooking oil to soybean oil.
Even the corn used in their tortillas is now sourced from GMO-free crops, a move Chipotle says was years in the making as the chain had to wait for the crops to be planted and harvested.
Pork and chicken still come from animals that eat GMO feed, but all the beef is from pasture-raised cattle.
