When a little boy battling cancer was asked his one wish, he said he’d love to ride along with a Vermont State Police officer.
When Vermont State Police commanders heard about this, they upped the ante in a big, big way.
Bennett Stenger is fighting rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a type of cancer, so Make-A-Wish Vermont granted his wish.
But not only did he get to ride in a cop car, he and his brother, Chase were honorary troopers complete with a full day on the job.
They each got uniforms, rode in a cruiser, and took a Marine Unit out on Lake Memphromagog. Then they brought in the bomb squad and blew up pumpkins, then controlled the bomb squad robots and witnessed a TSU deployment!
Troopers were thrilled to give Bennett and his family a very special day away from cancer, and said they hope he busts cancer for good!
