Greg Cole is no stranger to Emmaus House.

Cole, whose  background is in nonprofit management,  was recently named executive director  of the Atlanta nonprofit. Emmaus   provides assistance to residents of Peoplestown, operates the Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom School and offers educational programs for adults and children.

Emmaus House is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.

His appointment comes as Emmaus House recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The nonprofit said in a statement that Cole was tapped “based on our desire to maintain stability and continuity in the senior leadership at Emmaus House and our faith in Greg to provide that leadership.”

Cole has a master’s in divinity from the Harvard University divinity school.

He succeeds Joseph Mole.
