SUWANEE
Broadway in the Park at Town Center Park
Suwanee Performing Arts invites audiences to take a dip under the sea for a special production of "The Little Mermaid." This year's Broadway in the Park production has Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Ursula and other characters from the Disney animated film splashing in the real world. "Filligan's Island," a parody of the '60s sitcom "Gilligan's Island," opens each evening. Although Broadway in the Park is free to the public, donations are encouraged because the event serves as the annual fundraiser for Suwanee Performing Arts. Activities also include a Caribbean carnival and island-style market with an array of vendors and inflatables, which will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. If pint-size princess fans would like to toast tea cups with the cast, they can attend the Under the Sea Tea Party at 10:30 a.m. July 27 and 28. It's geared toward ages 3 to 7 and costs $25 per child.
7 p.m. July 27-28. Free. Town Center Park, at the corner of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Buford Highway. 678-482-6333, www.suwaneeperformingarts.com.
