Vegan ice cream is becoming a thing

Milk and eggs are among foods vegans don’t consume. So that means no ice cream, right? Wrong. Thanks to Breyers, vegans can enjoy a scoop or two without breaking their practice.

The company has recently debuted a new cookies and cream flavor “made with real almond milk.” No word yet on whether it will be sold nationwide, but its has appeared in Meijer stores in the Midwest.

Breyers is just the latest company to release a dairy-free version of the frozen treat.

Ben & Jerry's released one last year, and last week added flavors that include cherry garcia, coconut seven layer bar and coconut almond brittle.
