Getting out and about in metro Atlanta is becoming a little easier as some events are resuming — often with social distancing restrictions. Some virtual events are also being held, or you can choose a fun activity to do on your own from the list below.

Cobb
Cardio Kickboxing and Core de Force Class. 8 a.m.-9 a.m. Saturday, June 13. $7 per class for Smyrna residents, $10 for non-residents. Pre-registration required. Twentieth Century Veterans Memorial, 2800 King St., Smyrna. smyrnaga.gov.
Bring a water bottle and get moving with core de force, a high-energy mixed martial art-inspired exercise, along with cardio kickboxing. The class is recommended for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes.

Enjoy the beach and the lake for a vacation feel. Due to COVID-19, a limited number of visitors will be allowed into Cauble Park, but Dallas Landing Park, 5120 Allatoona Drive, Acworth, is suggested as an alternative.

DeKalb

Explore Fernbank Forest. Timed sessions from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, Saturday June 13 and Sunday, June 14, with these times plus 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Explore Fernbank Forest by walking two miles of paths or enjoying a canopy walk. Advance online tickets are required, as are face coverings for people over age 2.

Enjoy the lake in DeKalb County's smallest town and try your hand at fishing. The lake is stocked with catfish and bream, and you'll need a valid Georgia fishing license to fish.
Go Biking in Decatur. various courses available, Decatur.
Decatur has added improvements such as bike lanes and bike boxes (green pavement markings at intersections to help improve bicycling safety) to make the city more bicycle-friendly. The city has also recommended five bike routes to try, including one that's easy and appropriate for riding with the kids and another that takes you through Decatur Park.
